THIS IS WHAT CREATING DUBSTEP LOOKS LIKE

You don’t have to be Dubstep’s biggest fan to appreciate the video above. Ableton Contest hosted by DJ Tech Tools found Riccardo Betti, who with his Novation Launchpad can develop genius sounds. Is this what music has turned into? Either way - pretty Sick!

This song is legitimately too good.  And I don’t know why.

The Wailers are Coming!

The WailersThe Wailers are coming to Ithaca on Friday to open for Neon Trees and Taio Cruz for Slope Day.  They were Bob Marley’s old band and they have a sweet spot with me.  Their music reminds me of me and my dad going skiing and him taking me to ballroom dancing class when I was a youngin’ in middle school.  It was so long ago, that we still listened to it on my dad’s tape player in the car.  I’m fairly excited and will make it a priority to get on the Slope that day.

Oh and Neon Trees and Taio Cruz?  Neon Trees are good, but I don’t know too much outside of “Animal” and “1983.”  Taio Cruz has most of the songs people played at frat parties my freshman year, so I guess this Slope Day will be Slope Day of the throw-backs.

Vanished - Crystal Castles

In the darkest of night, I move with you in synchronicity as I vanish into the nether realms of your pulsating affections. Every tantalizing touch electrifies the little hairs behind my neck and a storm stirs inside me waiting to unleash a tidal wave of lovestruck feelings.

“In the dark, come out and play.”

SUCH A GOOD SONG

Accurate, this is.

Albums I Want Now That I Will Pay For
  • To Lose My Life by White Lies
  • Ritual by White Lies
  • In the Pit of the Stomach by We Were Promised Jetpacks

Just a few purchases I really want to make.  And I can just upload them to my iTunes on my laptops for light listening when I’m working or something.  (My desktop has the master list of all the songs on my iPod).

Metric New Album!

Synthetica drops June 12th.  Metric has been one of my favorite for a while.  If someone wants to preorder it for me and give me the album for my birthday, I will be the happiest person.  It sounds like it will be another masterpiece, but lyrically a contrast to Fantasies, so I am fairly excited.  Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? is still my favorite though.
